Route features

During the Edo period, Owase City was a prosperous center for the production of Owase cypress.
Additionally, it served as a port for ships waiting for favorable winds, and as a lodging place for pilgrims traveling on the Kumano Kodo.
Today, fresh seafood is offered at local restaurants and enjoyed by visitors.
